SITAN: FCT-MCTES funded project in a collaboration with LASIGE / FCUL. SITAN will develop security services for wireless ad-hoc and sensor networks, simplifying the design of dependable applications for pervasive, secure, intrusion-tolerant and reliable monitoring and actuation settings.
ESSEN: on going collaboration network with the VTT (Finland), FMTC (Belgium), Univ. Kent (UK), Sensorex Oil (Norway) and ETRI (Korea). This project intends to discuss, in a network of different specialists, the requirements to develop an open simulation and emulation platform (with emulated hardware in the loop) to reduce the time and costs associated with the WSNs applications design in large scale settings, considering: multihop routing strategies, low-latency concerns, energy-aware optimization requirements, reliable and secure data-dissemination and programming abstractions.
SensE:
on-going
industrial collaboration initiative (LNEC). This project aims to
simulate a wireless sensor network for healthcare monitoring of
critical civil engineering infrastructures (with a case study on
a bridge monitoring and instrumentation).
The project will examine commercially available
sensor motes, regarding the requirements inherent in the observation
of works and the coupling of WSNs, as well as, simulation, emulation
and development platforms, to deal with a mesh/multi-hop ad-hoc
network organization, "zero" cost operation, latency and
soft-real time constraints, data accuracy and quality,
reliability conditions and flexible querying with fast
and energy-aware data-recovery
